Introducing Avenia Digital Products: Sell Licensed Software on WordPress

Avenia Digital Products 1.0.0 is here. A WordPress plugin for selling digital products with license keys, a REST API, WordPress updates for plugins and themes, subscriptions, secure downloads, and Stripe or PayPal checkout on your own site.

Introducing Avenia Digital Products: Sell Licensed Software on WordPress

Today we’re launching Avenia Digital Products v1.0.0, a WordPress plugin built for people who sell digital products for real: plugins, themes, licensed software, subscriptions and downloads.

If that sounds like you, you already know what a good store needs. Checkout that feels clean. License keys with activation limits. A way for your product to check that a key is still valid. WordPress updates so customers install new versions from their dashboard. Subscriptions when access should renew. Secure file delivery so a ZIP is not sitting in a public uploads folder. And a place for customers to come back and manage what they bought.

That stack is usually scattered across a heavy ecommerce suite plus a pile of add-ons. We wanted one plugin that treats licensing, updates, and subscriptions as the core product, not an afterthought.

So we built it. And now it’s ready for you to use.

What Avenia Digital Products is

Avenia Digital Products is a WordPress plugin that turns your site into a digital product store. You sell on your own domain, with Stripe and PayPal on your own accounts. Buyers get license keys, downloads, WordPress updates, and subscription access without leaving your brand.

No marketplace cut. No handoff to another platform for the parts that matter. Your store, your customers, your payment accounts.

Who it is for

We built this for makers and studios who care about license keys, product updates, subscriptions, and secure delivery.

WordPress plugin and theme authors. Sell your ZIP from your site, issue a key at checkout, deliver updates the WordPress way, and let your product activate or deactivate installs against your store through the REST API.

Licensed software sellers. Your app does not have to live on WordPress. Call the license REST API from a React app, a desktop build, another CMS, or any product that can make an HTTP request. WordPress handles commerce. Your software handles validation.

Subscription sellers. Offer monthly or yearly access, optional trials and setup fees, and let customers cancel from My Account when they need to.

One-time downloads are fully supported as well. Sell templates, assets, courses, ebooks, and other files with the same checkout, secure delivery, and customer accounts.

What’s included in version 1.0.0

Version 1.0.0 ships the full store experience we wanted for selling digital products on WordPress.

License keys and a REST API

Keys are generated when someone buys. You set activation limits. Your product can validate, activate, and deactivate installs through a clear REST API. That means a WordPress plugin, a theme, a React app, desktop software, or software on another CMS can all talk to the same store.

Commerce stays on WordPress. Your product can live wherever it already lives.

WordPress updates for plugins and themes

When you sell a WordPress plugin or theme, you can offer WordPress updates from your store. Customers with a valid license install new versions from their WordPress dashboard, the same way they update other plugins and themes. No separate update service required.

Subscriptions

Sell monthly or yearly access for ongoing software access. Add a trial or a setup fee when it fits your offer. Customers manage and cancel from My Account, which keeps support quieter and the experience friendlier.

Secure downloads

Deliver files through protected uploads or external URLs. Downloads are tied to the purchase, with per-purchase limits, so you are not relying on public media library links.

Payments with Stripe and PayPal

Connect Stripe and PayPal on your own accounts. Use test mode while you walk through a purchase, then go live when you are ready.

Customer accounts

Accounts are created automatically on purchase. My Account gives buyers a home for downloads, licenses, and subscriptions so they can help themselves later.

Store admin tools

Orders, customers, discount codes, reports, manual orders, tax settings, and transactional emails are all included. Everything you need to run day-to-day sales and keep an eye on how the store is doing.

Why we built it this way

Selling digital products on WordPress should feel focused. You should not have to assemble a frankenstein stack just to issue a license key, ship an update, or bill someone yearly.

We designed Avenia Digital Products around the jobs software sellers actually have:

  1. Take payment on your site
  2. Issue a key (or a download, or both)
  3. Let the product validate that key
  4. Deliver updates when you ship a new plugin or theme release
  5. Renew access when the offer is subscription-based
  6. Give customers a simple account to come back to

That is the loop. Version 1.0.0 is built around it.
