Accounts let customers log in, re-download purchases, view license keys, and manage subscriptions without digging through old emails. This guide is for store owners setting that experience up.
Auto-create Accounts (recommended)
Under Settings → General → Account Creation, choose Auto-Create Account After Purchase.
After someone buys successfully:
- The plugin creates a WordPress user for their email address if one does not already exist.
- They receive the Account Confirmation email with a button or link to set their password.
- They can log in on your Login page (not the WordPress admin login) and open My Account.
You do not need to create accounts by hand for normal sales. Manual orders can also create accounts when you choose that option (see Orders and Customers).
Guest Checkout
If you choose Guest Checkout instead, no account is created at purchase time. Customers only receive emails. They cannot use My Account unless they register another way.
Guest checkout is simpler for one-off buyers, but support becomes harder when download links expire and the customer has no login. Most digital stores are happier with auto-create.
My Account
The Account Page (Settings → General → Core Pages) should contain the account shortcode the plugin installed for you. Customers must be logged in.
Depending on what they purchased, they may see tabs such as:
Products
Purchases with download buttons.
Downloads
Direct links to their files.
License Keys
Keys for products that have licensing enabled, with a copy control.
Installations
Sites or domains where a license is active. Customers can deactivate an installation they no longer use, which frees a slot for another site.
Subscriptions
Active, trialing, and cancelled plans, with cancel and restart actions when applicable. During a free trial, customers see when the first charge will occur.

The Login Page
Use the Login page the plugin created, and link it from your site menu and from emails. It is meant for customers, not for you logging into wp-admin.
If someone forgets their password, the form links to WordPress’s normal lost-password flow. Make sure your site can send email (see Emails), or password resets will fail silently from the customer’s point of view.
What You See In The Admin
Avenia Digital Products → Customers lists people who purchased, received a manual order, or used an email-required free download. Open a customer to review orders and, if needed, revoke all access (Access Control) or assign a product.
