Avenia Digital Products sends transactional emails when orders complete and when accounts are created. Most go to the customer; one notifies you (the store) of each new order. You can turn each type on or off and edit the wording under Settings → Emails.
Many “I never got my download” support tickets are really email delivery problems. If your host blocks default WordPress mail, install an SMTP plugin early.
Email Types
Order Confirmation
Sent to the customer when an order completes. Includes order number, total, and line items.
Admin New Order Notification
Sent to you (not the customer) when an order completes, so you know a sale came in. Set one or more recipient addresses; if you leave the field blank it goes to the site admin email. Includes the order number, customer name and email, payment method, totals, and a button to open the order in wp-admin. Enabled by default.
Download Link
Sent when a download is ready. Includes a button or URL to the file. Emailed links expire after the number of days in Email Link Expiration (days). Account downloads are not affected by that expiration.
License Key
Sent when a license key is generated.
Account Confirmation
Sent when an account is auto-created after purchase. Includes a way to set a password.
Subscription Renewal
Sent when a recurring subscription payment succeeds and the billing period advances. Confirms the amount charged and the next payment date. Not sent for the initial purchase (Order Confirmation covers that) or when a free trial converts to the first paid period.
Subscription Payment Failed
Sent when a recurring payment fails and the subscription status becomes past due (not on every retry while it is already past due). Tells the customer the product name and points them to My Account, where they can restart (purchase again).
Editing Emails
Go to Settings → Emails.
At the top you set From Name, From Email, and Email Logo (Select Logo / Remove Logo). The logo appears at the top of every email. If you leave it empty, the plugin falls back to your theme custom logo or site name.
For each email type you can:
- Enable or disable the message
- Edit the subject line
- Edit the message body in the visual editor
- Click Send test email to preview the message
All emails share a common layout and footer. You only edit the message body; branding is applied automatically. The settings screen also lists the main placeholders next to each field.

Send test email
Each email section on Settings → Emails includes a Send test email button.
- The test goes to the email address on your logged-in WordPress admin account
- It uses sample placeholder data (for example a sample product title and order total)
- It uses the subject and message currently shown in the form, including edits you have not saved yet — useful for previewing copy before you click Save Settings
- Test sends ignore the Enable checkbox, so you can preview a disabled email type
- If the send fails, install or configure SMTP (see Delivery tips below). The button does not create a real order or subscription
Placeholders
Placeholders are bits of text in curly braces that the plugin replaces with real values when the email sends. Use only the placeholders listed for that email (plus the shared ones below). A placeholder that does not apply may show up blank or as the curly-brace text itself.

Delivery Tips
Use an SMTP plugin so mail goes through a real mailbox or email service.
Set From Email to an address on your domain (for example [email protected]). Free webmail addresses as the From address are often filtered as spam.
Use Send test email on each email type to confirm subject, body, and SMTP delivery before you go live.
Send a simulated purchase or sandbox purchase to yourself and confirm each enabled email arrives for real order flows.
Keep Email Link Expiration reasonable (the default is 2 days). Customers with accounts can always re-download from My Account after the email link expires, there is no download count limit.
Disable email types you do not need. For example, if you use Guest Checkout and never create accounts, you can turn off Account Confirmation.
