This guide explains what customers see on your site: the catalog, product pages, cart, checkout, and account area. It is written for store owners who are comfortable editing WordPress pages but may not have built an online store before.
The Main Store Pages
When you activate the plugin, WordPress pages are created for the shopping flow. You control which pages the plugin uses under Settings → General → Core Pages.
Products Page
A customizable catalog. By default it includes the Products block, which renders your product grid. You can open the page in the editor and add a heading, banner image, or introductory text above that block. This page is separate from the automatic product archive URL (see Permalinks below).
Cart Page
The full shopping cart. It should contain the [aveniadp_cart] shortcode (or equivalent block content the plugin created).
Checkout Page
The payment form. It should contain the [aveniadp_checkout] shortcode. Direct checkout links and “skip cart” both depend on this page being set correctly.
Account Page
Customer My Account. It should contain the [aveniadp_account] shortcode. Visitors must be logged in to use it.
Login Page
A front-end login form with the [aveniadp_login] shortcode. Link this in your site navigation so customers are not sent to /wp-admin/.
If you rename a page or create a new one, update the matching dropdown under Core Pages and save settings. Do not remove the shortcode or Products block from a page unless you have already assigned a replacement page.
The Catalog Grid
Whether customers arrive through the Products page, a category archive, or a Products block you placed elsewhere, they see a responsive grid of products: image, title, price, and optionally a short excerpt.
If you pinned a product (see Product Page Extras), it appears full width at the top with a wide 9:4 image (square on smaller screens).
You can filter and sort the grid using the Products block settings in the page editor (category, tag, columns, and what to show). Developers who need shortcode attributes can read Shortcodes And Blocks.
A Single Product Page
When someone opens a product, they typically see:
- Featured image and gallery
- Title and description
- Price options (and monthly/yearly choice for subscriptions)
- Add to Cart, or Download for free catalog products
- Optional demo button
- Optional info accordions and related products
This layout is provided by the plugin and works with most themes. If you need a fully custom layout, a developer can override templates (see Templates And Overrides).
Side Cart And Skip Cart
By default, adding a product can open a side cart drawer so customers review items and continue to checkout without leaving the page.
If you prefer a shorter path, enable Skip cart under Settings → General → Core Pages. The checkbox label explains that after adding a product, customers go straight to checkout. The cart still stores items in the background; the cart page remains available if someone visits it directly. Skip cart requires a valid Checkout Page.
When Skip cart is on, the side cart drawer is hidden.
Cart Icon In The Header
In the block editor, add the Cart Icon block to your header or navigation template so customers always see the cart. You can choose icon style (bag, cart, or basket), size, whether to show an item count badge, and an optional text label.
Product Urls (permalinks)
By default, products use URLs like:
yoursite.com/digital-product/my-ebook/
Under Settings → General → Permalinks, Product base controls that middle segment (default: digital-product). Category and tag archives use the same base.
After you change the product base, save plugin settings. If old links 404, go to Settings → Permalinks in WordPress (the core screen) and click Save Changes once to refresh rewrite rules.
Block Themes
If your theme uses the Site Editor (Full Site Editing), the plugin still displays product grids and product pages. Place the Cart Icon block in your header template if you want a persistent cart control.
