System Status is your health checklist for payments, downloads, and store environment. Open Avenia Digital Products → System Status whenever you are going live or when orders or downloads are stuck.
The page is split into three areas: Environment, Stripe, and PayPal.
Environment
Plugin
The installed plugin version number.
Checkout mode
The same Simulated / Sandbox / Live summary as Settings → Payment (title plus a short description). Change it under Settings → Payment — the status row links there.
Stripe Webhook URL / PayPal Webhook URL
Copy these into the Stripe Dashboard and PayPal developer dashboard when you register webhooks.
Page cache
Reminder that cart, checkout, account, login, thank-you, download, and payment-return URLs are excluded from full-page caching. Catalog pages can stay cached; cart count and the side cart drawer load via AJAX.
Protected uploads
The folder where product files are stored, whether Apache .htaccess deny-all rules are present, and a live probe of whether a test file under that folder is reachable by direct URL. If the probe says direct URL access is not blocked, Nginx is usually serving the file and ignoring .htaccess. Use the Nginx deny snippet shown on the page (or ask your host to block the folder). See Downloads and Delivery.
Download endpoint
The secure download URL pattern your store uses (for reference only). The plugin fills in the access key automatically; you do not configure this URL anywhere.
Updates API base URL / Update download endpoint
Shown when this install can serve software updates for products you sell. Reference URLs for updater clients and temporary update package links. See Software Updates Guide.

Stripe and PayPal
Each provider section shows:
Enabled
Whether that gateway is turned on under Settings → Payment.
When Simulate payments is on
In use at checkout shows “No — simulate payments is on”. Provider keys are not used until you turn simulate off.
When Simulate payments is off
Credentials in use — Test or Live, and whether keys are configured or missing for that set.
Webhooks in use — Configured or Not configured for the active set.
Other credentials saved — Whether the inactive set (test or live) is already filled in for later.
For the full checkout picture and credential fields, open Settings → Payment.
Use It When Going Live
- Turn Simulate payments off.
- Set Real payments use to Live mode.
- Confirm Checkout mode on System Status matches Live, and that live keys and webhooks show configured.
- Copy the Stripe webhook URL into Stripe → Developers → Webhooks.
- Copy the PayPal webhook URL into PayPal and subscribe to payment and subscription events.
- Fix anything still marked missing on System Status.
If Downloads Return “not Found”
Secure downloads use custom URL rules. If every download 404s, go to Settings → Permalinks in WordPress (the core screen) and click Save Changes once. That refreshes rewrite rules for download links.
